Sunday Perpetual Novena Services
The Novena prayers will begin directly after the 9:30 am and 11:30 am Masses on Sunday.
Novena in Honor of St. Jude… Come, Holy Ghost, Creator Blest,
and in our hearts take up your rest,
Come with your grace and heav’nly aid,
To fill the hearts which you have made.Priest: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Priest and People: We fly to your patronage, O Holy Mother of God, Queen of Apostles. Despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us from all dangers. O ever glorious and Blessed Virgin Mary.
Priest and People: O glorious Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus, true relative of Jesus and Mary, I salute you through the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Through this heart I praise and thank God for all the graces he has bestowed upon you. Humbly prostrate before you, I implore you through this heart to look down upon me with compassion. O, despise not my poor prayer, let not my trust be confounded. To you God had granted the privilege of aiding humankind in the most desperate cases. Oh, come to my aid, that I may praise the mercies of God. All my life I will be grateful to you and will be your faithful client until I can thank you in heaven. Amen
Priest: Blessed Apostle, with confidence we invoke you.
People: (Repeat)
Priest: St. Jude, help of the hopeless, aid me in my distress.
People: (Repeat)
Priest and People: Most holy Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved master into the hands of the enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so needy; make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (here mention your petition), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O blessed Jude, to be ever-mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be to the Father.
Priest: St. Jude Thaddeus, pray for us.
People: And for all who invoke your aid.
