See the Face of Jesus in our Neighbors

Christmas at St. Jude Shrine

Fr. Peter

Dear Friend of St. Jude,

Thank you so very much for your faithful support of our Pallottine priests and brothers and our mission to serve the poor. Your works of mercy in St. Jude’s name have been an answer to the prayers of so many hopeless people around the world.

As I reflect on Pope Francis’ words, I am reminded of a testimony that we received from Dee and Marty and I want to share it with you. It speaks clearly to seeing the face of Jesus in our neighbor. They wrote the following:

Thank you St. Jude. A heartwarming incident happened yesterday that could only be called a miracle. Our landlord actually lowered our rent for the next six months because she has seen us struggle to pay the rent. We do not have a job or any income. In today’s world, people do not take the time to really help one another! Please continue to ask St. Jude to assist those in need throughout the world. We ask for special prayers for financial blessings and are thankful for this most recent financial miracle!

This Christmas season, Pope Francis challenges us to open our hearts to greater love. When we see Jesus in our neighbor, we are free to reach out to them, care for them, and hold their hand when life seems hopeless.

Our Pallottine priests and brothers are committed to helping people heal physically and spiritually, but we cannot do this alone. Your support is critical to our ministries, particularly during this season when the homeless feel even lonelier, the hungry need a good warm meal, or children simply want to be like other children with presents to unwrap.

Christmas at St. Jude ShrineThanks to you, we are able to continue the work of our important ministries in 46 countries around the world including right here at home. In Nigeria, where civil strife continues to destroy lives, leaving behind countless orphans, our priests and brothers minister to a never-ending stream of refugees who have absolutely nothing.

In India, we find children in garbage dumps and work camps. Many are sold into slavery to pay off family debts. Deep in the Andes Mountains of Peru, poor girls and boys cannot go to school simply because their families cannot afford school uniforms and school supplies.

From delivering food, clean water, and medicine, to educating the poor and caring for orphans, your blessings bring hope where there has been very little. Thanks to you, our priests and brothers bring tangible relief aid along with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

I am hoping that we can count on you to be as generous as possible to the poor this Christmas season. Your generosity also helps to keep the doors of our St. Jude Shrine in Baltimore open for anyone seeking answers to their prayers. I assure you our priests and brothers will remember them in prayer.

On behalf of all our priests and brothers, I wish you and those you hold dear, the peace and joy of this beautiful and holy season. Christmas Blessings!

Wishing you the hope of St. Jude and our Newborn King,

Fr. Peter Sticco, S.A.C.
Novena Director

P.S. Be sure to send your prayer requests, along with your gift, so they may be remembered in the prayers and Novenas at our Shrine. I promise also to include your needs in daily Mass that is celebrated on St. Jude’s tomb in the Vatican.
